DEBATE ACTIVITY
The teacher and the students will have to propose today's news to realize a debate in class. The course(year) will be divided in two groups one to favor and other one in opposition to the selected topic. The topic will have to be chosen democratically for the class, the topics proposed for the discussion must be changed and of the interest of the class for example: The global warming, the abortion, the drug addiction, the political and social situation of the country, etc. Once the topic is chosen there will be left a term of two weeks to realize the debate
The students will have to write their arguments - which will have to be sustained by appointments of diverse sources(fountains) - and them present of written form one week before the debate to the teacher - the one who was presenting the necessary alterations with precedence - the teacher will yield part(report) of the time of the previous classes - around thirty minutes as minimum - to the debate in order that every group realizes readings and selects the arguments mas strong that are going to be presented.
Every group will have interventions of five minutes at the maximum to present his(her, your) arguments or to debate the arguments of another group. The teacher will do the paper(role) of moderator of the debate, this one will have to grant the word, and to control the time of every intervention, beside making sure of the active participation of all the members of every group
After an initial discussion - maximum 30 minutes - every group will choose the argument of major weight to give their final position. Finally the best argued position will be evaluated by the whole course, the result of this evaluation will be written in a record of group like conclusion. Finally, this record will be read by a representative of every group to the rest of the class, to give end to the debate
Note: the aim of the debate in class is not a winner finds, the debate will have to promote the healthy discussion, the respect for the thought of other one, the participation and the interaction of all the subjects of the class.

During the debate, students write a letter to persuade the opposite group; each group should read it at the end of the debate
LANGUAGE FOCUS AND FEEDBACK: the teacher makes corrections to the letters and students re-write a new version of the letter.
